Austin photographer Kathryn Watts-Martinez can be described as an esthetic photographer with a foot in two worlds. Working in both the old processes from the early 1800's of hand coating emulsions on paper and printing in the darkroom to the modern progressive age of digital capture and output. This website is dedicated to both sides of her work.

Her Argyrotype work is timeless, it's hard to tell if these images are recent or from a hundred years ago. She currently has 20 different images and is still busy photographing floral and other still life subjects with her 4x5 and 8x10 cameras as well as local Texas architectural subjects and old churches. The Argyrotype process gives the images a warm brown/amber tone.
